Gingerbread Smoothie

When the winter holidays can come together in 5 minutes you get on board right? For me gingerbread is that great transition flavor that takes you from Thanksgiving to the Christmas. Those warm spices, natural sweetness of banana & some hidden cauliflower & hemp seeds for added fiber & protein. A perfect way to start the winter morning, especially if you snuggle under the blankets for a few extra minutes while you drink it in the morning.

For an added treat (or gingerbread overload - you decide) make sure to sip on this Gingerbread Latte & crunchy Gingerbread Person Cookies.

Gingerbread Smoothie

Prep Time5 mins
Course: Breakfast
Keyword: gingerbread, smoothie, vegan, vegetarian
Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2-3 florets frozen cauliflower
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup dairy-free milk of choice plus more as needed
  • 1 tbsp molasses
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp ground clove
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds optional for added protein
  • 2 tbsp oats optional for added fiber

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a blender & puree until smooth. Add additional milk or water to reach your desired consistency.
Pour into your favorite container & enjoy!

Notes

This smoothie has the ability to sneak in some added nutrients due to the flavorings of the molasses & spices which disguise the cauliflower & added oats or hemp seeds.
The oats & hemp seeds will thicken the smoothie so you may need to add more liquid to alter the thickness level.
Enjoy!!!!
