Local Scoops

Local Scoops

One of my favorite things to do is find cute, little, local shops that really seem to embrace the ambience of a locale. Local eateries & coffee shops that have great customer service, plant based products & of course a great vibe! I feel like I always find these little gems on vacations. I’m sure it’s simply a matter of trying to capture the essence of a city in quick little moments that center around food. Let’s be honest, if food isn’t a central part of your vacation plans I’m pretty sure you are missing out! Food is such a great measure of a community, customs & culture!

So when I can find these neighborhood eats in my own town it’s ideal! I absolutely adore Off Track Ice Cream! They have all kinds of vegan ice cream flavors, the cutest little Instagram worthy shop & the sweetest people that run it. Even better, they are very big on supporting other local businesses too! They do quite a few collabs with other Charleston eateries. Pictured here (top spoon) is the Jam Sesh, which is based on another favorite place The Harbinger Cafe & Bakery. The flavors are based on their super successful vegan bar that features tahini, sweet potato, berries & chocolate. It is simply heavenly! And if that didn’t already have you drooling, there is the collab with Bodega Charleston (bottom spoon). It’s another special edition flavor of Nutella Babka. A chocolate hazelnut ice cream with chunks of chocolate babka! Um, yes please!

What’s your favorite local eatery in your hometown? Let me know!
